Alex was born in Eastern Kentucky but spent most of his child hood in Columbus, Indiana. One of his earliest memories is of singing along to Fleetwood Mac with his parents. His father, originally from Eastern Kentucky, made sure Alex’s musical foundations were rooted in true mountain music – Bluegrass and old time Folk. His mother introduced him to a blend of soft rock and acoustic pop – often encouraging him to try and match the artist’s tones note for note. Alex spent most of his time deeply involved in football and competitive sports. Singing was a fun pastime but wasn’t taken seriously until his latter college years and he didn’t know a single chord on a guitar. He has since grown to love challenging himself to learn multiple instruments.
